Ron is a Christian man who is active in his church’s contemporary band playing drums, keyboards, composing, and managing the band’s website.
He started composing music at the start of 2008 and hopes to use this blog to share his music and communicate with other composers and musicians.
Ron was laid off from programming job in October of 2009. Oddly enough, he felt very good about losing his job. He had a strong feeling that God had something “different” and better for him, although he couldn’t tell you what that was or even a hint of what it looked like.
Over the weeks following his layoff, a vague image started forming in his mind about what his career was going to look like going forward. It became clear to him that God did not want him going back to work for the big corporation. Instead he felt called to somehow work with helping small churches and businesses.
Ron started revamping his own church’s website, and created BuildAChurchWebsite to document and share what he was learning about good church websites. It still wasn’t clear how Ron was going to support his family though.
Over the weeks that followed, God slowly revealed to Ron how he could work with churches and small businesses to help them with their websites while making a living at it, and without charging them very much. And thus the idea of Build a Website Workshops was born.
His wife Shelley is also active with the church music programs; singing and coordinating the music. She also works part time as the church office manager.
Together they have 4 children that are grown and out of the house. They have 2 grandchildren.
They like to travel, often on their Goldwing motorcycle, and SCUBA dive when they can afford it. Their travels have taken them from their home base in Texas to both coasts, Canada, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and out to California on their Goldwing motorcycle. So far they’ve been SCUBA diving in the Dominican Republic and Bonaire but realize that the world is 3/4ths water
They are breast cancer survivors.
Life is good! It’s amazing where God will lead you if you can put your fears aside long enough to start following where He leads.
Thank you Jesus for this amazing life that you’ve given us.
